Mini Album Madness!!

Hi crafty friends,
What a day we had yesterday!  We had our first album class and 7 of us constructed an album from start to finish.  Everyone worked very hard and we learnt many new skills that are essential to album making.  Hopefully, everyone has caught the album bug and this is the first of many.  I remember the first album I made and every one that I make now is better than the one before.  Here are some photos of my completed album.  I went for a masculine theme based on fishing and camping.  Ive used the Kaisercraft Hunt and Gather collection for my album.  The base of the album is made with Kraftex and Kraft cardstock. All pages have been inked in Black Soot Distress Ink.

There are numerous photo mats throughout the album in both portrait and landscape orientation.  I will also include some photo mats and tags for larger photos and some memorabilia.

Let me know what you think.  Is this something you would like to try yourself?

Hope you all have a crafty day!
See you next time

Upcoming Album Class

Hi crafty friends,
I'm so excited because in a couple of days we're going to have our first album class.  This has been created from the incredible interest in one of my mini albums that I had on display at the last Made With Love Markets.
The album that I made was an adaption from an album inspired by the
great Kathy Orta King.  She is a true genius when it comes to all things paper craft and memory keeping.  I have been a follower of hers for a few years now and mini album making is truly addictive.  Just wait until you try it.

This Saturday is the first class and we will make an album from start to finish.  This includes making the pages, cover and decorating the album.

If you're interested in attending one of these classes, please send me an email and I will try to hold a place for you.  Till next time,
Stay crafty,
XO Tan

Punch Art Class

Good afternoon crafty friends,

Well, this has been quite a busy week for us crafters.  On Saturday we had a class on punch art which was a great success.  During the class we created 3 cards using a variety of punches and dies.  All products were Stampin' Up! and we all had a great time.

The first card was a Minion card.  The base was Daffodil Delight cardstock.  The goggles were created with the 2" & 1.5" circle punches.  Eyes were made with 1 3/8" circle punch in white card.  The mouth is double punched with the 2.5" circle in Crushed Curry cardstock. The pupils and iris are from the small circles in the cupcake builder and the 1/2" circle.  The shoulder straps are from the word window punch with 1/2" circle buttons.   The remainder of the overalls are just cut to fit the card base.

The second card was the beautiful ballerina card.  Perfect for any little girl.
The card base is Very Vanilla with a side fold.  The first mat piece is Blushing Bride cut 1/4" smaller than the card front.  The second mat piece is a further 1/4" smaller than the Blushing Bride and stamped with the Brushstrokes background stamp in Blushing Bride ink.  To create the dress, cut 2 of the sweetheart punch in Blushing Bride cardstock.  Cut 1 decorative label in Blushing Bride and 1 Elegant butterfly in Blushing Bride.  Cut approximately 4-6 vellum pansy punches.  Cut 2 word window in Very Vanilla.
To construct, cut the decorative label from bottom peak to upper corners as shown.
To create bodice, place trimmed decorative label into sweetheart punch and trim upper portion.
Emboss all pink cardstock pieces with decorative dots.  Glue the 2 heart pieces upside down to lower side of bodice part.  Glue to stamped card front. Place folded in half pansy vellum pieces under the skirt to create the tutu and give the dress volume.  To finish, add legs under the skirt and cut off the lower part of the butterfly to create ballet shoes.
Add banner from the Birthday Banners set and stamp sentiment from same set.
Finish with a Blushing Bride bow

The final card is a super quick one.  Background cardstock is Soft Sky cut to a notecard size. The Starburst framelit is cut in Marina Mist and placed directly on card front.  The angry bird is made with a white 2.5" circle base and the Real Red cardstock is double punched with a 2" circle cut out of the bottom and then punched with the 2.5" circle to create shape as shown.
The head and tail feathers are both made by using the large flower in the Blossom punch and trimming to 3 spikes.  These are placed at the top of the head and on the left of the bird.
The circles are made with 1/2" circles and the small circle from the Cupcake Builder punch.  Mouth is freehand cut into a small square approx 1/2" wide and cut on the diagonal with a slightly larger portion going to the top of the beak.
All parts are glued with Tombow Mono adhesive.

I hope you all enjoyed making these as much as we did.
Ive been super busy creating the classes for the album class we are having in 10 days for the first class.

If you are interested in creating one of these mini albums with us, please email me and we can accomodate your paper choices and find a class that suits you best.  The album will hold up to 50 photos and these are so much fun to make its hard to stop at just one.  You have been warned. haha.
Till next time,
Stay crafty,
Tan

Made With Love

Hi there crafty friends.
Today was the totally amazing Made With Love Markets at Park Beach Plaza car park.  It was a wonderful day filled with so many talented people and amazing people that we had the pleasure to meet today.  It was so great to meet so many new crafters and I'm looking forward to welcoming you all to our group.  It doesn't matter if your completely new to crafting or have been creating for many years.  We all work one step at a time and can all make amazing creations.

Many people are keen to get into more classes, so, due to popular demand, I will be having a card class next Saturday.  The theme will be punch art.  We will make 2-3 cards all with the use of punches.  We will focus on non-traditional uses of the punches as well as flower making and 3D art.

Then, in a fortnight after that, I will host a mini album class.  This will be run over a 2 week period consisting of 2 consecutive Saturdays.  The mini album will hold over 50 photos.  All cardstock and patterned paper will be supplied.  I will send everyone that is interested an email with all the particulars and preferences of paper can be arranged then.

I am always trying to find new ideas for classes and I believe that these classes should be what we want to make.  If there is anything that you would like to make, please let me know.  We are all awesome crafters, and I believe we can make anything!

I will post some photos soon, but I would like to thank everyone that I met today.  A huge thank you needs to go to my partner in crime. My craft journey just wouldn't be the same without the people I share it with, so thank you so much to all the special ladies in my life. I love you all.

See you soon crafty friends,
XO Tan
