Hi Crafty Friends,

Wow! It sure is shaping up to be a big week. Last night my daughter had her end of year dance concert and as always, It was a fantastic afternoon of beautiful girls and their amazing teachers putting on an amazing performance.  Today she had her end of year presentation assembly at school where she received a major award for academic excellence. I am so proud of her with or without the awards. Every day she reminds me of how blessed I am to be her Mum.

On another note, I've decided to have an end of year giveaway. Simply let me know what your favourite project has been and I will randomly pick 5 winners and they will receive that project. (exception of my puppy album but I will give a similar album).  This is one of the giveaways. Big Shot cover. So just leave a comment on what your fav is and I will draw the names by Christmas.

ESAD Occasions Catalogue and Sale A Bration Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends,
Welcome to my creative space. If you have come hopping to me, I hope you are enjoying yourself so far and finding lots of creative ideas ready for the new Occasions Catalogue.

Today I have made a few projects for you. Firstly, I've made  one layer card in 2 colour schemes using the Lift Me Up stamp set and the co-ordinating dies, Up & Away.
the first one has a base of Rich Razzleberry with Island Indigo and Calypso Coral. I've stamped using the masking technique to create layers of stamping to give the image some depth.  I've also added some highlights with a white gel pen. This really makes the card pop! Finally, a strip of Sale A Bration Carried Away DSP and a stamped sentiment from the stamp set and you're finished. I've done exactly the same for the other card, however, I've used Rose Red, Crumb Cake & Island Indigo as my colour scheme. I can't pick a favourite. Can you?

For my next card, I've used the stunning High Tide stamp set.  Because the image is so beautiful I didn't want to do much embellishing.  I've taken a panel of Whisper White and stamped with Versamark and embossed with Clear embossing powder.  Then using Dapper Denim, I've sponged around the image and then lightly brushed over the whole image with my Aqua Painter.  I've done some stamping using Dapper Denim to add the water and birds. The card is finished off by matting on Whisper White and placed onto a card base of Delightful Dijon using Dimensionals.  To embellish, I've tied a bow of Smokey Slate 1/8" ribbon and a few Basic Jewels onto the lighthouse.

My second card using High Tide was made using exactly the same technique as before, however, Ive sponged with Smokey Slate and done my stamping in Smokey Slate.  I've cut my focal image using the Lots of Labels Framelits and stamped a sentiment onto a tag from the Tags & Labels Framelits. My matt layer is Watermelon Wonder and I've stamped a background in Versamark and let dry.  The ribbon is the 3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack from the upcoming Sale A Bration catalogue.

My final card is stamped using Tasty Trucks and Hey, Chick. Both are from the Sale A Bration catalogue.  I've masked as I did in my first card using post it notes. This allowed me to combine the awesome chick into the food truck. He really is my favourite chick, so darn cute.  The clouds are from Lift Me Up in the Occasions Catalogue.  All colouring is done with my ink pads and Blender Pens.  My colour scheme is Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.

I hope you have enjoyed what I've made for you today. Please follow along and check out Nerida Carter and what she has made.  Thank you for joining me today.

Storybook Card with Project Life

The Artful Stampers Blog Hop #113

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I've taken part in the Artful Stampers Blog Hop #113. Today's theme is a colour challenge.

Our challenge was to make a project featuring these colours. Hopefully you find what we have made inspirational.  I've made 2 projects for today's hop. The first is a single layer card featuring the Paisleys & Posies stamp set.  I've stamped in Basic Black archival and coloured my card using Stampin' Write markers. The card is on a Whisper White base with a Cherry Cobbler mat.

My second card is made with the Best Birds stamp set and co-ordinating dies.
I've used a Old Olive card base and done a watercolour wash using Cherry Cobbler.  The branch is Crumb Cake and the birds are predominately Blushing Bride and Cherry Cobbler.

I hope you enjoyed what i've created for you.  I will be posting a video showing how I created these cards tomorrow.
Please continue the journey to our next amazing crafter and see what they've made for you.

Storybook Card version 2

Hi Crafty Friends,

Recently I participated in a round the world blog hop with The Artful Stampers and the awesome Pootles from the UK!
I created a fold out photo album card and I had so much fun making it that I made another one today and used Project Life cards and scraps of DSP.  This made the project super quick to make.

I will be holding a class for this album in the New Year. If you live in Coffs Harbour region please come along. It will be a lot of fun.

The Artful Stampers and Pootlers Mega Blog Hop

Hi there crafty friends,
Welcome to my blog.
If you are hopping around the world with us, I hope you are enjoying all the amazing creations so far.

I absolutely love Christmas. For me it has always been a time that I've crafted with my children.  We make decorations, gifts and just about anything we can think of.  For my project today, I've combined my love of card making with my other passion, Scrapbooking. Inspired by the amazing Kathy Orta King, I've made my version of her Storybook Card.
Many years ago, we used to send our families and loved ones stories of our year at Christmas time. As we become busier, we have forgotten that lost art of remembering all the amazing things that have happened throughout the year.  And boy, have we had a action packed year here.

The construction of the Storybook card is surprisingly fast, It only took me approximately 4-5 minutes to make. There are only 3 sizes of cardstock and they just glue together with Tombow. The DSP I've used is Presents & Pinecones with accents of Real Red and Whisper White.  The stamp sets I've used were Cookie Cutter Christmas, Be Jolly By Golly, Christmas Pines, Greetings from Santa, Seasonal Bells, Stitched with Cheer, & Holly Berry as well as their co-ordinating punches and dies.
The fun is in the decorating. I've decorated with Stampin' Up! products and kept it current.  I really enjoy making my own backgrounds and patterned papers.  Another option is using Project Life cards to really speed up the decorating of the project.  It's also a great way to use up scraps.

Check out the video!

The box envelope is made using just one 12" X 12" piece of cardstock.  I will be posting a tutorial soon as to how I made my album and envelope.

I hope you enjoy my project and please check out our next amazing crafter.
A big thank you to Sam and Alisa for arranging this blog hop. You guys rock!
Till next time,
Stay Crafty,
XO Tan

The Artful Stampers Blog Hop #112

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome from blog. Today I've taken part in The Artful Stampers Blog Hop #112. This weeks challenge is Pop Up! I love making dimensional projects so I got excited. First, I thought of doing a box card, but I have done many of them for christmas recently.  I made a resolution to myself to try something new with every 'Hop' I do. So, without further ado......I introduce my

 Waterfall Easel Card!

I love to do techniques that I can use in memory keeping and card making.  I have used waterfall elements in some of my scrapbooks and cards in the past but I have never combined 2 types of cards before. I love how it turned out. It even folds flat for mailing.
I'm also trying to use my DSP instead of hoarding it. I am the worst for saving my paper.  The fear that I won't be able to get it once the catalogue ends is almost too much for me to bear at times. But.....I'm working through it.

I hope you enjoy my card.
See you next time. Please continue the hop with the next amazingly talented crafter, Jane Riches.

Stay Crafty,
XO Tan
